Congrats to Aaron and Sam! They welcomed baby number two last month!
Kick-Ass star Aaron Johnson and fiancée Sam Taylor-Wood are celebrating the birth of their baby girl.
Romy Hero was born at home on Wednesday, Jan. 18, in London, their rep confirms to PEOPLE.
“Both mother and daughter are well,” a statement reads.
The couple, who met in 2009 on the set of the artist’s directorial debut, Nowhere Boy, are already parents to daughter Wylda Rae, 18 months.
In 2010, Johnson, 21, told PEOPLE that Taylor-Wood, 44, is “lovely and a fantastic mother.”
The artist is also mom to Jessie, 5, and Angelica, 14, her daughters with ex-husband Jay Jopling.
Aaron came in third on Total Film’s 30 Hottest Rising Actors.
Aaron Johnson
Who? Nominated for numerous awards for his portrayal of music legend John Lennon in 2009’s Nowhere Boy.
Why So Hot? A breakout star of 2010 – after critical acclaim for Nowhere Boy and then for his role as the home-made superhero in Kick-Ass – Johnson’s star rises on.
He’s currently filming Oliver Stone’s Savages and will soon start production on Anna Karenina, Joe Wright’s adaptation of the Russian classic, which will also star Keira Knightley and Saoirse Ronan.
What’s Next? Albert Nobbs, which also stars Mia Wasikowska and Glenn Close, is about to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Congrats to both Sam and Aaron! Vogue is reporting that Sam is expecting her second child with Aaron.
SAM TAYLOR-WOOD is pregnant again. We heard rumours at Goodwood yesterday that the artist and filmmaker was expecting her second child with her fiancé Aaron Johnson – and received confirmation from her today.
Taylor-Wood has two daughters with her ex-husband Jay Jopling and gave birth to a third daughter, Wylda Rae, in July 2010. She met Johnson on the set of Nowhere Boy, the Lennon biopic that she directed and he starred in.
Taylor-Wood has no further comment to make at this time.
Attending the Istancool festival is a little like one of those conversations in which each person nominates their dream dinner party guest.
…
Istancool also hosted the world premiere of a series of music videos created for REM’s new album, Collapse Into Now, by Sam Taylor-Wood and Sophie Calle. One depicts Taylor-Wood’s husband, actor Aaron Johnson, dancing and cavorting with lamp-posts in East London.
“It comes from our ritual of ‘morning dancing’,” explains Taylor-Wood, winking at Johnson, who is squirming in the audience. These are the moments that make Istancool different from, say, Hay or Port Eliot – there is always a proximity, everyone is interlinked. There is little difference between those involved and those participating.
At a time when the Hollywood movie star landscape is being made over with new faces, Kick-Ass star Aaron Johnson is cementing his place in this new order. He has been offered two lead roles in high profile films with strong scripts and A-list directors, in parts that have been pursued by all the young guys. I believe he’ll do both films.I’m told that Johnson has been offered one of the two male leads in Savages, the Oliver Stone-directed drama about two best friend pot growers who share a gorgeous lady and a huge problem: their pot is so good that a Mexican drug cartel has kidnapped their gal and will kill her if the growers don’t go to work for the cartel. That pic, which has a script by Shane Salerno and Don Winslow (who wrote the novel on which the movie is based) will shoot in June. Jennifer Lawrence is Stone’s first choice to play O, the kidnapped free spirited sexpot, but her commitment to The Hunger Games (Deadline told you last Friday that was happening) has made her participation uncertain at the moment.
Aaron Johnson and Jude Law are in talks to join Keira Knightley in Working Title’s “Anna Karenina,” which Joe Wright will direct.Tom Stoppard penned the adaptation; Working Title’s Tim Bevan is producing.
In the title role of the Leo Tolstoy classic, Knightley will play a woman stuck in a loveless marriage who struggles with her attraction to a soldier.
British actor Aaron Johnson took inspiration from John Travolta and Gene Kelly for his carefree dance moves in the latest R.E.M. music video.
The Kick-Ass star can be seen flipping down an East London street and jumping off a post in the promo for the R.E.M. track Uberlin, which was directed by his partner Sam Taylor-Wood.
R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe was delighted with Johnson’s funky moves, which he reveals were inspired by scenes from two classic dance films.
He tells Britain’s The One Show, “I went to each director. With Sam, inparticular, we had been talking about possibly collaborating on something with the band since last summer. I didn’t know that she would ask Aaronto do something like this but she said, ‘I think I have an idea and I really wanna try it.’ “What they wanted to do is combine elements of John Travolta’s walk in Saturday Night Fever with Singin’ In The Rain, a classic film form the 1950s, and update it for the 21st century”.
‘Kick-Ass’ has been nominated for six awards at this year’s Jameson Empire Awards.
The movie – starring Aaron Johnson as a comic-book fan turned self-made superhero – leads the way with nominations for Best Film, Best Actor, Best Director, Best Newcomer, Best Sci-Fi / Fantasy and Best British Film in the awards voted for by the public.
As of next year, three of America’s most famous superheroes will be played by Brits: Superman (Henry Cavill), Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield), and Batman (Christian Bale). No, we’re not going to protest out of some misguided jingoism (although we will point out the horror with which our friends across the Atlantic responded to Renee Zellweger playing Bridget Jones once upon a time).
We don’t know if it’s the popularity of rigorous youth drama programs or what, but the British are invading Hollywood at a rate that rivals the arrival of the Aussies in the late ’90s. Looking at the more established young slate of English talent (Keira Knightley, Carey Mulligan, the Harry Potter trifecta, and Robert Pattinson to name a few), we say welcome to the next gen of Bright Young Brits.
Aaron Johnson
In his home country, Johnson’s a hardcore tabloid target for falling in love with, impregnating, and proposing to his much-older “Nowhere Boy” director, Sam Taylor-Wood, but in the rest of the world, he’s best known for being one of the bad-ass young stars of “Kick Ass.” The controversial blockbuster was a sleeper hit last year, and plans are underway for a sequel in 2012. In the meantime, Johnson will star opposite Glenn Close and Mia Wasikowska in Rodrigo Garcia’s 19th Century Irish drama “Albert Nobbs.”
Directed by fiancée Sam Taylor Wood, Aaron stars in this new Rem music video, “ÜBerlin”. You can watch it below! Caps + Set pics from the making of it have been added to the gallery. Enjoy!
The video was filmed in and around Brick Lane for the single Uberlin, which is released on Monday.
Band frontman Michael Stipe said: “I had no idea that she and Aaron would create such a work of beauty.”
